The issues facing our youth today is tragic. Youth are bombarded by messages from the shows they watch to the ads they see.  But what about the environment they live in? In a community that promotes drinking and smoking what kind of community and values are we standing for?

After some trainings it was clear, that we need to look at the environment in which our youth live and limit the number of images and negative behaviors to encourage our youth to make positive choices.

Here are some ways that you can curb our youth's risky behaviors:

- Become a mentor for at risky youth through organizations like Big Brothers/ Big Sisters, or Lakeshore CAP

- Volunteer at a local school

- Belong to an organization that provides positive youth activities

- Be and live as a positive role model

- Advocate for parenting lunch and learns, put on by ASAP
