MCASAP has been in existence since April 2004.  In 2007, MCASAP received a Drug Free Communities Grant that provides $125,000 each year for five years to address underage drinking, tobacco, prescription drug abuse and other other drug abuse in Manitowoc County.

 

Currently MCASAP is working on:

- Sponsoring the Parents who Host Lose the Most Campaign. To raise awareness to Parents about the dangers of purchasing, providing or pouring alcohol to underage individuals. See our informational page Parents Who Host Information

 

- Collaborated with local agencies to have Drug Disposal Days around Manitowoc County (Click here for more information on drug disposals) To reduce the incidence of prescription drug abuse.

 

- Working to make local festivals host events with alcohol more responsible and family friendly. (Click here for hosting suggestions)

 

- Working on consistent county wide athletic codes to hold all atheletes to the same level of excellence.

 

- Educating community members on the dangers of substance abuse and other risky behaviors. Also how to effectively crub these behaivors.
