Manitowoc County Kids CAN (Coalition for Activity and Nutrition)
|
Manitowoc County Kids CAN (Coalition for Activity and Nutrition) is a multi-organization coalition which was formed in May of 2003 to address the growing problem of overweight children and adults in Manitowoc County. Our mission is to improve the health of children and their families by promoting good nutrition and increased physical activity to prevent weight-related chronic illnesses. As a coalition, we have provided ongoing educational opportunities to all ages of the population of Manitowoc County to promote good nutrition and increased physical activity. We will continue to support the health priorities set forth by Healthiest Wisconsin 2010 which include adequate and appropriate nutrition along with overweight, obesity and lack of physical activity and tailor these health priorities to our people of Manitowoc County by collaborating with our community partners.
