Risky Sexual Behaviors

Manitowoc County has one of the highest rates of risky sexual behaviors.
In fact statistics show that the state of WI shows 3.9% of youth under
13 had intercourse. In Manitowoc County alone 4.6% of our youth
reported having intercourse before the age of 13.
Goals for 2007.
l Continue to work with local school districts to reach our youth with a
positive message.
l Develop a peer youth mentoring program to allow high school students
to mentor Jr. High and Elementary students.
l Continue to educate parents and provide the resources and information
they need to talk to their children.
